What a small world - Felieke van der Leest/ 世界真小 - 荷蘭知名創意珠寶設計師

Felieke van der Leest is a creative Dutch jewelry designer. Last year she was here for giving a lecture in Taipei. In the lecture, I found out that my professor Ruudt Peters was her professor too. Furthermore, we have one thing in common that is mostly both of us would prefer to make our work with our hands directly rather than drawing sketches before making pieces .
Felieke是知名的荷蘭籍創意性珠寶設計師.去年Felieke有來台演講.從演講內容得知Felieke竟然跟我是師出同門.都是Ruudt Peters的學生.此外我們還有一個共通點就是在開始創作設計作品時大部分時候是習慣用手直接創作代替繪製草稿.

Felieke collects a lot of animal toys.and she works with them as well and combine knitting & metal pieces. Animals and tv are her good friends. Animals inspire her a lot on her design. Tv is always keeping her company when is knitting at her couch.
Felieke 她收集很多動物公仔.她的作品都是用動物公仔再搭配勾針跟金屬結合. 動物跟電視也是Felieke 的好朋友.動物總是給她源源不斷的創作靈感.至於電視則是她坐在客廳沙發勾針時的好伙伴.

I do really like and enjoy her work. so creative, humorous and make me smile!Hope you do have same feeling as mine.

這張作品是獅子布萊恩Brain the lion.你可以看到布萊恩在嘶吼尖叫.一開始Felieke還遇到瓶頸.要怎嚜設計布萊恩的眼睛,從鑲鑽到寶石,後來某日陽光普照,她從家裡窗戶望出去,她看到很多人戴太陽眼鏡. 就這樣她也幫布萊恩打造一附純金眼鏡. 之後攝影師幫布萊恩拍照後.剛好有一間雜誌想要介紹Felieke 的作品. 事後Felieke 很想要它的布萊恩士登上雜誌封面.後來幾度跟雜誌社接洽溝通Felieke 跟雜誌社總編輯說,難道你沒看到我們家的布萊恩一直在那吶喊尖叫就是為了登上你們家雜誌封面ㄚ.就這樣布萊恩如他所願了.Felieke 那一陣子出路書店, 超商都可以看到書報架上有她的布萊恩身影.她說感覺真棒.......哈哈.......

這件作品Felieke也是相當滿意的一件. 當初她在創作這件Super Freak Zebra/超級怪咖斑馬巨星.她是想塑造成像麥克傑克森那樣. 一開始她還在想說斑馬的雙手在擺哪裡好, 後來某天她突然把斑馬雙手插入口袋,她索然就解決斑馬的雙手.放進口袋也不用做斑馬的手了. 省事一樁.Felieke 的座右銘. simple is the best solution. .............哈哈怪咖斑馬很有搖滾巨星的fu吧.

Young Designers' Exhibition / 新一代設計展

A big design even is just right on the corner. 2009 Young Designers' Exhibition will be held from May, 14th - May 17th.The most exciting thing that's you will have an opportunity to see a Swedish design & arts team to present their work.
年度最大的設計展盛事即將到來,2009年新一代設計展將於5月14日 - 17日展開. 讓人最興奮的事是這一次的展覽你將有機會飽覽到瑞典的設計及藝術團隊呈現他們的作品.

The book "Designers' viewpoint from Stockholm" writer Max, he is planing the Swedish design team to participate the design fair. According to Max description, the whole idea to organize the exhibition which is to rise public attentions about another side of the world, through our images, displays and works. We want to turn this world into a brighter place, through Swedish designers’ works, thoughts and voices.The most ost important of all, is your participating
設計之神國度- 斯德哥爾摩設計觀點作者馬克斯是這次策劃瑞典團隊的推手.根據馬克思的描素, 這次瑞典設計及藝術團隊來台展出最主要訴求重點是希望透過這些瑞典創意者的作品,影像,想法及聲音來引起大眾的共鳴,進而讓我們這個環境更好.,最重要的事要有您的參與才能能讓這股力量放大.

This creative team will be included 13 Swedish and 2 Taiwanese who used to study in Sweden. Moreover, they are all specialized in different design & art areas; such as fashion, photography, art,graphic, music, ceramics, interior deco, textile,design, interior/ space & jewelry design.
這次瑞典設計及藝術團隊陣容包含13位瑞典人及2位曾經到瑞典唸書的台灣人參與這次盛事.涉及的創意領域涵蓋流行,攝影,平面設計,音樂,陶藝,室內裝置藝術,紡織設計,室內空間設計及珠寶設計.

Evoking - Memories of Stockholm / 喚起 - 斯德哥爾摩印象

Living in Taiwan barely see snow views but in Stockholm which is almost half year in winter time with snow. In the winter time, the sky is getting dark around 3:00 in the afternoon. During the winter time people there are getting quiet, inactivate and depressed easily without enough sun. Avoiding to keep in the dark & depressed feeling, Swedes use a lot of white & bright colors for their environment. "snow / white - winter / dark " affect their daily lives very much & also inspire their design field very well.
在台灣很難看到雪景,但是在斯德哥爾摩幾乎半年都是在下雪.冬季時,大約下午3點就開始天黑.冬季時由於日照不足,瑞典人活動力會降低,話也變的不多. 整個人的情緒也會變的比較容易沮喪.瑞典人會巧用白色或明亮顏色來改變週遭環境來避免受到黑暗的寒冬影響."下雪 / 白色 - 冬天 / 黑暗"影響瑞典日常生活非常深遠但是也同時給予瑞典人在設計上很大的啟發.

As a Taiwanese in Stockholm, I did get inspiration from the freezing weather as well;however, due to the culture impact, my inspiration would be quite different from Swedes. Thus relative to "snow / white - winter / dark " here are some pictures for you reference. Those pictures were taken casually during my way to home, school, shop and so on. on my way to home from school with my classmate Camilla Svensson at 10:30pm.hardly to walk on a steep with snow on ,so u can imagine how difficultly push our bikes.晚上10點半左右跟同學Camilla Svensson從學校回家.又黑又冷.原本已經很難行走在大雪鋪蓋的斜坡,更何況要推腳踏車.

necklace with very sculptured tree shape.on the top is silver and the bottom is copper with oxidation black color which is contrast to the silver top / 非常立體項鍊作品. 形狀如同被雪覆蓋的樹(銀白色/銀的材質).底下則是用銅去硫化氧成黑色來跟上面的銀白色的樹作對比.

Dala Häst / 達拉木馬變裝來台

When I first time saw Dala Horses in Sweden, I was fascinated by the handicrafts and colors.Dala Horse is more readily recognised Swedish symbol than the flag. Thus for my new collections,Dala Horse has been my inspiration .(please see my photo album for more specific informations)

瑞典達拉木馬要比瑞典國旗更讓人印象深刻.猶記我第一次看到達拉木馬時, 被它的手工跟顏色深深吸引住.這麼多年仍對它念念不忘,於是乎瑞典達拉木馬便順理成章變成了我新一系列產品創作靈感.

From my Dala Horse collections, you might see they are quite different from original one. Yes, indeed, I do give my Dala Horses my own interpretation, which is more Serena style.The most strongly changed that is it's costume.not that ethnic anymore.(below u will see the original Dala Horse )
從達拉木馬系列, 你可以很明顯看到跟正統的瑞典達拉木馬很不一樣.沒錯, 是地.你沒看錯 .我用我自己的詮釋方式賦予達拉木馬更多Serena style. 最明顯的改變就是我將達拉木馬變裝了. 不再那麼民族風了.(以下照片你可以看到正統達拉木馬)


I was holding an original Dala horse / 手上拿的就是正統達拉木馬(Lotta & I were on travel magazine / Lotta & 我意外上了旅遊雜誌 )

By the way, during school corse" color & form" in Sweden, I had to make a stament about "Swedish Identity. Dala Horse just came out right of my mind. I made 3 styrofoam Dala horses and represented them as Swedish family,who were eating typical Swedish food. My uni rented a flat from Ericsson office. Each student had own space to present each work.Thus follow photos you would see the whole process of making styrofoam Dala horses & presentation.
順便一提, 之前在學校色彩與造型課程.有一次課程安排何謂"瑞典人身分".達拉木馬立刻直接閃過我腦海. 我做了3個寶麗龍達拉木馬代表瑞典家庭.並且為他們煮了瑞典人常吃的食物.學校特別跟易利信租了一層樓辦公室,每個學生可以擁有一間辦公室展示自己的作品成果.以下照片你可以看到我製作及展示過程.

Series of Love / 戀愛3部曲

戀愛3部曲都會有Serena Chen 品牌銀飾吊牌喔!!

Have you ever fallen in love with someone? Series of Love is according to my personal experiences and transforming to my inspirations. From the collections you will see 3 steps.(please see my photo album) So in love -> Heart broken ->Recovering.

戀愛過的人都知道箇中滋味. 戀愛3部曲是根據我個人經驗轉換成我創作的靈感. 在這系列裡,你可以看到3部曲. (請看我的照片相簿) 熱戀期 ->心碎期 -> 康復期.

In the first step So in love, 2 birds are kissing and revealing to everyone that they are “so in love”. Everything for the couple is just fabulous.

在熱戀期,你可以看到2隻小鳥正在激情的接吻, 也很大方跟世人宣示我們是熱戀中的情侶. 對熱戀期的情侶來說, 他們眼裡所看到的事情都是美好的.

So in Love / 熱戀期 -- Necklace / 項鍊 (silver, suede / 銀, 麂皮)

Second step Heart broken, you might see a bird alone, and she can’t even have strength to vibrate her wings a bit even though there is fruit just right above from her. Everything for her is negative. The tree next to the bird also bends its body and feels the sadness as the bird is.

接下來是心碎期, 你可以看到只剩一隻小鳥獨自在那. 即便有果實就在她的正上方, 她連振動一下她的翅膀的力氣都沒有. 所有事情對她來說了無生氣跟負面. 在她身旁的那棵樹也彎著腰, 似乎也感同身受到那隻小鳥的心碎心情.


Heart Broken / 心碎期 -- necklace / 項鍊 (silver,suede / 銀,麂皮)

Finally Recovering step, the bird finally can stand up on the top of tree, and she has been well confident and seeking for her next relationship already.

最後是康復期, 那隻心碎的小鳥終於可以展翅高飛站立在樹上, 她已經再度自信滿滿尋找她的下一個新戀情.
